It’s the season of love and with all the excitement surrounding the Same-Sex marriage laws, what better time to share a memory very close to our hearts!

Earlier this year, Showtime had the absolute privilege to host an extra special celebration. Having close personal friendships with half the staff, Laura and Bec were already members of the “Showtime Family” but to officially become part of the tree, the girls trusted us with the honour of producing their big “I Do’s”.

The day started with the girls and their respective maids sipping bubbles and being beautified at the Pan Pacific Melbourne (then Hilton South Wharf).

Being a 2 minute walk from the venue made it easy to check in with the girls during the preparations teasing them with sneak peaks as to what they were about to walk in to.

Utilising the local rickshaws the bridal party were whisked up the wharf, making a bold arrival with tunes pumping for the almighty walk down the aisle.

There was not a dry eye to be seen during the intimate ceremony, as the couple exchanged personalised vows and promises.

However the ultimate peak of the day was the girls surprising their guests with the announcement that they had officially tied the knot 2 days prior at the British consulate and that their marriage is actually legally recognised (well in Britain anyway!).

To provide the icing on the cake, Laura proclaimed she will be taking on Bec’s surname and they will be able to continue the infamous Sherrin family name!

While guests enjoy drinks in the sunshine, and the girls wandered around the wharf modelling up a storm, the venue was completely transformed for a show stopping reception party.

As the afternoon came to a close, guests returned for canapés and drinks in the riverside marquee before the grand room reveal invited them into the transformed space in stunned silence.

The evening was a whirlwind of excitement and shenanigans as guests enjoyed an award winning three course feast, hilarious and heartfelt speeches, and a few cheeky shots to keep everyone glued to the dancefloor.

And in the words of Laura herself –

“Showtime delivered and much much more”

First of all Karinda was amazing, we never felt like we had to chase up on anything or felt stressed in any way that we were rushed to meet deadlines. Her ideas and organisational skills are next level. Brad as expected was unbelievable in not only the planning and ideas, but as a support to Rebecca and I.

I am sure I have forgotten people here but there are too many outstanding staff to mention.

Our glasses were never left empty and [our bridal attendant] ensured we all ate. He really was the perfect attendant. All of the wait staff were amazing, not one complaint or negative comment has been received from any of our guests.

Rebecca and I had a dream wedding day in mind, we did not know exactly what that was, but what we did know is that we wanted a stress free day where all of our friends and family could come together as one and enjoy themselves. I was blown away. It was intimate, beautiful and breathtaking centrepieces, the lighting, the table settings, it was all beautiful. I really do think our wedding is going to take a lot to beat and that is all down to Showtime. You made our special day one to remember for the rest of our lives. We cannot thank you enough!”

A gorgeous rendition of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ was the perfect way to end the evening.
